Dr. P. D. Patil is the architect of Pune's academic complex and has translated the vision of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil in to reality by establishing as many as 50 quality institutions within short span of decade.

The credit for the meteoric rise of the Pune complex goes solely to Dr. P. D. Patil. His zeal and untiring efforts are behind the completion of the huge and architecturally beautiful building of the Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, with an area of 35,000 sq. mts. In a record period of eight months. The sprawling Dental College was also completed in six months.

It is his dedication and dynamism that has elevated the institution in Pune complex to international standards. He is widely traveled person and has applied his experiences for up gradation and modernization of the institutes. The stupendous success of the Pune complex is credited to his capacity for team building. His humane and calm approach towards addressing of problems and his quick decision making ability is responsible for the rapid progress of the complex. He has put in all his energy in developing the Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical College, which has rightfully earned name as "The Jewel in the crown" of the Pune complex.
